Listen to Me Marlon U.S Release
29.07.15

Listen to Me Marlon
, a cinematic documentary about Marlon Brando which we music supervised is released theatrically in U.S this week followed by UK/Europe in autumn.

The film is particularly unique as it is narrated in the late Brando's own voice, utilizing hundreds of hours of audio that Marlon recorded over the course of his life to tell the screen legend's story. It is directed by Stevan Riley (Fire in Babylon) and produced by Passion Pictures (Searching for Sugar Man).

Reviews have been exciting from screenings on the festival circuit such as Sundance, Hot Docs and the official U.S opening is today, July 29th at Film Forum in New York and July 31st at the Landmark in Los Angeles, before rolling out nationwide throughout the summer and fall ending with a TV broadcast on cable network, Showtime.

‘A fascinating sort of posthumous self-portrait assembled from the Brando's estate artifacts. The pic is a superbly crafted collage whose soundtrack is as complexly textured as the curation and editing of visual elements.’ Variety

'An enthrallingly intimate look at the brilliant, troubled and always charismatic screen legend.' The Hollywood Reporter

‘Listen To Me Marlon is an elegy, with scenes of extraordinary beauty throughout – not least the young Brando himself — but Riley has not made a hagiography, nor is this documentary just for Brando fans.’ Screen International

The music is made up of a licensed score of pre-existing tracks from artists including: Max Richter, Deaf Center, Eluvium, Ólafur Arnalds, Rachel Grimes, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ludovico Einaudi, Lucia Popp, Wim Mertens, Ryuichi Sakamoto/Taylor Deupree and we also commissioned original score themes from Polish songwriter Stefan Wesolowski (big thanks to Mute for arranging).

Here's a Spotify Playlist of the tracks available to give you a flavour of the soundtrack.
